Memorial Weekend

We also remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country as well as others we have lost.

Warning: picture overload today!

May has been busy, busy, busy. I have made time to blog and instead have chose to spend the evenings outside {or at a baseball game}.

Memorial weekend always kicks off summer for us. The 3 day weekend is always savored as a hoorah before the last week of school. We can taste summer vacation at this point. It really feels like summer will actually be here soon and is no longer a distant memory.

This Memorial weekend we spent the first day at home. We had a few things to do around home and a few graduations to attend before we headed south for the weekend.

Ella enjoyed playing in some water we set out on the deck. I am trying to find anything to keep her busy. Suggestions are always welcome!

On Friday night, Dan was visiting with the neighbors and Ella was jumping on this tube. They gave it to us so Dan decided to give her a little ride. I guess she is ready for the lake now!

My three loves enjoying a morning snack on the deck. It was already 80 degree's. Jace was in mismatched pajamas with fleece pants, Ella was dressed and ready for the day, and Jaxon was still in his underwear. This is each of their personality to a T!

Later Saturday, we headed south. Our first stop was at a greenhouse where I got the final plants for my landscaping. Hoping they all make it and thrive! Then we went to my dads for dinner with my sisters and brothers families. It is always fun when we are all together, even though things do get a little crazy {and awfully messy}.

My sister had the wonderful idea of doing kabobs for supper. We did beef, chicken, and shrimp. Chad watched the grill closely and we had PLENTY to eat.

My nieces and nephews. Love these munchkins!!

Baby Sutton has grown so much since the beginning of May!

Grandpa and Huck

The 4 older kids stayed up late playing cards. They have so much fun together. I should have snapped a picture of them and all the laughter.

Sunday morning it was little miss Sutton's baptism. Here are some pictures from the day!

Just love these boys!

God bless you sweet Sutton Rose!

After baptism, we went to the lake to enjoy some of the sunshine. The boys had a blast with their cousins and did not want to leave. We maybe should have stayed the night because on our way back to Moorhead the A/C on Dan's truck went out. It was a HOT drive considering it was 92 degrees. We stopped a few times on the way but they didn't have what was needed and it was Sunday so nothing was open. We did get some cold water and paper towels so we could keep the kids cool. We had the windows but the breeze certainly wasn't cool.

On Memorial Day we played with friends, worked on the landscaping, and had a low key day. We also brought Ella to the doctor. She had a rough weekend. Turns out, she has an ear infection. Hoping we are on the upswing!

Ella's cute swimsuit here.

That's a wrap on our Memorial weekend. If you read all the way until the end, thank you! This was a long post!
