Summer Make-Up Bag
I have been asked a few times to talk about the make-up brands I use. I did a make-up post awhile ago that you can find that here. I love trying new product and then there are some things I buy again and again! Here is what is currently in my makeup bag with links to the product if you want to try it! I will try to tell you how I use it as well but I am certainly NO makeup artist. I have it posted in the order that I apply.
Clinique Super City Block SPF 40
Let's be real, in the summer I usually only apply a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen. I rarely wear makeup during the week and it is GLORIOUS. I love this and put it on every morning when I brush my teeth. It can also be used as a primer. PS....you really should remember to use sunscreen on your face every day. Your face will thank you one day!
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Do you use a primer? Whenever I want my makeup to last all day I use a primer. This is one that I have used for a few years. The bottle lasts a long time for me because I don't use this every day (but you really should).
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation: Beige 300
I get this from my Mary Kay consultant and love the coverage. I also try other foundations but always have this one in my bag.
Beauty Blender
To apply my foundation, I use the beauty blender. My SIL uses it and told me about it. I bought one and will continue to use one forever. I was just using my fingers before but this honestly helps my foundation look more even and I can use less. I put the foundation on spots around my face and then use this to dab and rub it every where else. If you try one thing, you should try this if you use any sort of liquid foundation!
NARS Illuminator: Copacabana
This product is AMAZING. I often will combine this with my foundation and use together and it gives an amazing glow! I just put a little bit on my fingers with my foundation, mix together, put dots on face, and then use the beauty blender to apply.
I also use this as a highlighter and have used it this summer alone just for some shimmer.
NARS Concealer: Honey
I was never a big concealer person but was convinced to try some for under my eyes and my cheeks and it is a game changer. It really does hide more of the imperfections. This comes with an application wand that I dot on my face and use the beauty blender to smooth and blend. It is also great for those areas that are red (mine are between my brows) and acne spots.
iT Cosmetics CC+ Perfecting Powder: Medium
NARS Bronzer: Laguna
I LOVE this stuff. This bronzer is just the perfect color and I use it sparingly. I always apply bronzer using the '3' method. I make a 3 (and a backwards 3) on the sides of my face from the side of forehead, down to cheeks, and then down to jaw line (the shape of a 3) really making sure to get into the hairline and blend together. Bronzer shouldn't be super noticeable.
Younique Beachfront Bronzer: Hermosa
This winter, I also bought this bronzer from Dan's cousins wife who sells Younique. It is great for the summertime glow and adds shimmer. I apply it the same way as above. I linked to her website if you want to check out all the great Younique products!
Maybelline Fit me! Blush: Nude
Stila Highlighter: Kitten
This is another newish product I have started using. I was never one to use highlighters before but they make a huge difference! This one is subtle but when I use it I definitely glow. I apply above the bronzer (high point of cheeks), two spots on my forehead, nose, and inner eye. Make up artists that I have looked at typically say to use highlighter where the sun would hit your face. It gives a nice glow even when not in the sun.
And these are the brushes I use. I have bought them over the years and the brand names have worn off so I have no product links for you! The ones that are flat on the bottom typically apply more product to your face.
I use the first two for the CC+ powder and occasionally bronzer, the 3rd I use for bronzer, the next one is my eyeshadow brush, next is one I use for highlighting, and the last one is my blush and highlighter brush,
That is it for the face!
I have two simple eyeshadow pallets I love and continue to buy!
e.l.f. Palette: Nude Rose Gold
Urban Decay NAKED 2: Basics Palette
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
This is my favorite mascara by far. I feel like it gives good body to my lashes!
I have a lot of make up! That is my summer makeup routine for when I actually WEAR make up :) Really, it will be for the whole year, not just summer. I actually love experimenting with different products and application techniques. I don't do it often but when I do, it usually results in some new products! Do you have a go to make up product?
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

iT Cosmetics CC+ Perfecting Powder: Medium
I have used this stuff for years. I sometimes will use it instead of the liquid foundation. If I am doing full makeup, I apply this after the liquid, illuminator, and concealer. It gives a flawless finish.

Maybelline Fit me! Blush: Nude
I use this super cheap (under $5) blush. I like the way the bronzer and highlighter (below) look without the blush. However, I do apply just a little bit of this to my cheekbones when I am doing full make up!

If you don't have good brushes, there are so many sets you can buy on Amazon like this one.
